[ENG] TRAINING PROGRAMME - The Journey to Regenerative Tourism

What is Regenerative Tourism?

Regenerative tourism is an evolutionary step from sustainable tourism. It is bolder, more disruptive, and therefore more transformational. It will force you to step out of the box. Regenerative tourism is about creating the conditions for communities and ecosystems to thrive. It is also about creating unique and meaningful experiences for your clients.

It’s not about doing less harm, but restoring the harm done and supporting, connecting and revitalising local systems.

Why now?

The world is going through a very important transition. All around the globe, communities, organisations, and businesses are realising the flaws of an outdated system after suffering the consequences of the climate crisis and biodiversity loss.

Consumers are also demanding that businesses make significant changes to their extractive models. It is already happening.

And tourism is part of it.

It is a wonderful but fragile industry, which can collapse in the face of global crises like COVID-19. But it also has the power to impact a community and their environment deeply, for the better and the worse.

How do we adapt? How do we become more resilient and abundant? How do we make a real, transformative impact within our businesses and in the host destinations?

We need to be ready; for our own good. We need to start planting the seeds.

If you want to be part of the regenerative tourism community already learning the skills to be innovative, be responsive to changes, and create the conditions for their staff, local partners, and destinations to thrive, read on.

The journey of regenerative tourism

training programme

This synchronous (live) online programme includes 4 stops:

The Discovery of Regenerative Tourism

Introductory Online Session + 3 modules that focus on these areas:

1) Culture & stewardship:
Through several methodologies, I can facilitate various sessions to create an internal culture which, using nature-based solutions, will
create the conditions for people and your organisation to thrive. This has implications around recruitment, staff retention, well-being, and market attraction.

2) Value chain:
I can facilitate a series of sessions where we will define community stakeholder needs & a common purpose, and improve communication, which will
reduce the distance with your supply chain by turning them into partners and advocates to use tourism as a force for good, which will ultimately result in a smooth trip and customer satisfaction and loyalty.

3) Product Offering:

I can help you develop skills in-house to transform your product portfolio in a way that is transformative for the communities and your clients. This will result in client loyalty, standing out in the market, and improved supplier relations, all built on positive impact.

  • Modules (General Modules): They are carried out synchronously online and you will learn all of the theory, do some practical exercises and take some tools that you will be able to take back to your team.

  • Modules +: Beginnings can seem daunting. So Modules+ include all of the theory and exercises of the general modules (online) as well as one-on-one facilitation (which could be online, but you will highly benefit from in-person facilitation) by a professional to help you with the first most difficult steps of the implementation process as well as receiving a workbook so that you can continue your practice.

Time investment

The introductory session is a live module that lasts for 90 minutes. It serves as an introduction to the training program.

Module 1, Module 2, and Module 3 are the main modules of the program, each spanning 2 days with 4 hours of training per day, totaling 8 hours for each module.

If you participate in all the general modules (Module 1, Module 2, and Module 3), the total time investment will be 24 hours, including practical exercises.

In addition, if you choose to benefit from the "Modules +" option, you will have two extra facilitation sessions per module. Each session will last approximately 3 hours.
